Comments Thread For: Joel Diaz Very Pleased With Provodnikov's Performance

As you watched Ruslan Provodnikov's fourth-round stoppage of Jesus Alvarez Rodriguez this past weekend in Monte Carlo, you saw something rather eye-opening: Provdonikov (25-4, 18KOs) actually avoiding a punch or two.

"Hey, he slipped a lot of punches," stated Joel Diaz, his new trainer with a laugh.

Diaz, who had just started training 'the Siberian Rocky' was very pleased with their maiden voyage together.

If Diaz can improve his defense and get him to be more of a body puncher that will help Provodnikov a lot. Let's see how it goes.

What I liked is that provo was moving his head far more than previous fights.

Provo/Rios would be a blast for the fans. No matter how much training, neither will ever be technical wizards in the ring. Forget technique. Just 10 rounds or less of bombs away.
