It's funny to me how the only way some people will give Golovkin any credit at all is if he moves up in weight and beats Andre Ward. Is he some kind of gatekeeper? If he were to move up in weight and lose to Andre Ward, he's a fraud? What kind of logic is that, seriously? Last time I checked Ward was an undefeated Olympic Gold medalist who cleaned out the 168 pound division (when he was active) and was/is pound 4 pound #2 fighter in the world. It's the same kind of bizarre logic when Pacquiao lost to Mayweather and people started saying Pac was a fraud. So losing to Floyd is a shameful act huh? Right.

Strange that he's the only person that could give Gennady any credit according to these people. If Golovkin were to beat Peter Quillin, Andy Lee and Canelo next year, unifying every belt in the division, it's no good? lol ok. If he were to beat Carl Froch at 168, that's not good enough, even though that is by far Ward's best win in his career? OK. If Ward lost to Kovalev at 175 does that make him a bum all of a sudden? I guess so.

With that said I see the fight going one of two ways - highly competitive with either Ward winning a decision or Golovkin by KO. Neither of which would mean either guy is a bum/overrated/etc. They are both highly skilled fighters.

Gennady has to fight Ward to prove himself? Ward who has been out for 2 years and is trying to arrange gimmie fights at above 168lbs currently? Gennady Golovkin has been ducked by just about everyone Caesar Chavez Jr ducked him, Sergio Martinez ducked him, Miguel Cotto ducked him, Canelo Alvarez is already talking about ducking him. He tried to get a fight with Carl Froch, didn't work. Offered to fight Floyd at 154...Floyd pretended he didn't hear it and took Berto instead. Gennady is a monster, everyone he spars with from Mosley to Chavez to Kovalev he leaves them all impressed. He's beaten what, 7 top 10 guys and knocked them all out? Was ducked but the rest and everyone tries to discredit him? He has the highest knockout ratio in Middleweight history, he is being ducked by everyone, anyone who has an eye for boxing seems to know his technique and abilities are borderline legendary already.

Now what's your excuse? He gets hit too much? Homeboy is 34-0 professionally and 345-5 amateur, never been dropped boasts a fishbowl of medals, along with his Worlds Gold and Olympic Silver. Oh, he doesn't sell enough Pay Per Views? Of course not because he's from Kazakhstan and the only countries that buy PPV are US, Canada and a few Latin American countries...should that really justify the fact he is the most ducked fighter of this generation? Boxing is centered in the U.S., the organization's, the TV companies, the pay per view markets...it doesn't mean Golovkin isn't the best, it doesn't mean Cotto and Martinez should be able to duck out on contracts and run away from this guy...

Also, he offered to fight Ward at 164lbs. Every GGG excuse is muddled in idiocy and I see everyone being accused of being a GGG fanboy. Dissect this unbiased and factually you'll see it's a pretty open and shut case and this assessment is fairly accurate.
