Comments Thread For: Obara Stunned By Draw, Regrets Not Getting a KO

Keita Obara did everything he wanted to do in his super lightweight title eliminator versus Walter Castillo. The only thing that didn't come of his pre-fight game plan was delivering a late-fight knockout.

Because of that, he believes it cost him the fight - even if the majority of fans and viewers believe otherwise. What appeared to be a clear-cut win instead resulted in a majority draw, with Obara winning 115-113 on one card but overruled by matching scores of 114-114.

One of the worst robberies in a long time. Complete dominance by Obara.

I really feel for the Japanese fighter because this was one of the worst decisions in recent memory.

Based on the way that fight went, even if he did knock him out, he probably still wouldn't have gotten the W. He brutalized Castillo at times in that fight and I had him winning 10-2. An APPALLING decision.

I feel for the, probably not how he envisioned his debut in the United States. This is one of the main reasons why boxing has been cast out of mainstream sports....America is quickly joining the ranks of places where a fighter can be blatantly robbed.

One of the worst decisions in quite some time. I don't know what was the score in the lawson fight, but I'm glad it didn't go the distance, I guess it would have been the same.
