Comments Thread For: Callum Smith-Rocky Fielding Industry Prediction Poll

Callum Smith v Rocky Fielding: an-all Liverpool affair, a battle of two unbeaten British super middleweights fighting for the Lonsdale belt, a step closer to a world title shot and exactly the kind of fight that boxing on this side of the pond needs right now.

It is a fight that has sold-out Liverpool’s Echo Arena and has some of the sport’s best minds split down the middle. Smith’s world-class amateur background, a pro record with a better standard of opponent against Fielding; a fighter who has made huge strides in his development under Oliver Harrison and appears to be getting better with every fight. Not forgetting that both men carry sizeable punch power.

Fielding talked all that smack and got flattened in the 1st. Smith was clearly the more poised fighter.

I think Callum Smith will knock Badou Jack out.

I can see another English super middlweight world champion....smith has height, reach , power and a true mean streak ...was impressed on the way he put his punches together head and body....I can see him doing big things in the super middles

I think Smith should face Groves next.

Groves won't want any of that. He'll be on the comeback trail fighting cans for the next year of so. Callum is ready for the likes of Badou Jack. Eddie just said he'll be pushing for Callum a shot at the next WBC convention so that fight will happen in 2016 and when it does I expect Callum to catch Jack and stop him.

That would be a good next step for Smith i think, can't see Groves being keen though.

Pretty exciting times for British SMW's though. DeGale is champ. Murray has a chance to get a belt against Abraham, then Smith going down the WBC route.

A lot of Ifs and Buts there but there could be quite easily 2 or 3 British SMW champs in 2016. I'd like to see some good unification fights if that happens.
