Former WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 KOs) will return on December 4th in Canada against Mario Briones (26-4-2, 19 KO), according to the Cuban boxer's promoter Caribe Promotions.

Rigondeaux was stripped by the WBA/WBO last week for inactivity. He was last in action in December 2014 in Japan.

He received some good news a few days ago, when the WBC approved a final title eliminator between Rigondeaux and undefeated Mexican puncher Rey Vargas.

I guess Rigo should just win & immediately vacate titles in the future. He seems to get more interesting fights when he's not champion than when he is, well not this December one, but the next one.

WBC belt seems like the best belt for Rigo anyway. Think Andrade got stripped of a non-WBC belt w/o denying a fight too. The WBC is gonna give you a fight & you keeping or not keeping the belt will depend on how things go down from there. This random letter bs saying you haven't fought enough lately & being stripped is f#cked up. Force them to strip themselves if they deny a mandatory, don't write a letter saying fighting x times in x months isn't enough, buh bye your belt.

That's about it, they only started talking about making fights when rumors began to swirl that he's about to get stripped not a coincidence really.

Almost like they were just holding the belts waiting for something to fall into his lap when it didn't it hit them that they actually had to go make fights maybe him getting stripped was a good thing at least in making them more humble.

This is sad , man . Rigo fighting for a Latin title ? Against a taxi driver ? He better fight for his third Olimpic gold medal ...... Rigondeaux and caribe , both have f------d up big time , big time .
He got to sign with Haymon and dump caribe ....... Esta embarcado, what a shame .
