Comments Thread For: Promoter: Wach is Perfect To Prepare For Deontay Wilder

Andrei Ryabinsky, promoter for Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Povetkin (29-1, 21 KOs), admits that a fight against Mariusz Wach (31-1, 17 KOs) is the perfect selection to prepare his fighter for a mandatory bout against WBC champion heavyweight Deontay Wilder (35 -0, 34 KOs).

Povetkin-Wach will be held on November 4 in Kazan. At stake is the WBC Silver heavyweight belt.

Wach is like Nikolai Valuev's little brother.

Yeah, except for the fact that Wilder throws three punches in the same time it takes Wach to throw a single jab.

strange, seen as wach has the best chin in the division and wilder get's rocked and dropped by taxi driver's.
To be fair though wach's jawline was sculpted from the earth's inner mantle

Wach likely has a good shot at beating both Povetkin and Wilder, his chin is very good.

Yeah Wach's speed and movement is fast and quick

Wach the frozen metal robot constructed in some scrap metal shop with the anvil jaw is so similar to Wilder. Wach is terrible. Wach needs oil and lubricated between rounds just to move.

We already know Povetkin can hang in there with the like of Klitschko yet had trouble with his range finding shots before being clinched, obviously he won't experience those same issues against Wach but he will have to be mindful of the threat Wach poses, he has a big right hand himself and as showm against the champion he was able to hurt him when he did in fact land his truly only real meaningful punch of the fight.

I'm intrigued to see how Povetkin deals with the size of Wach, the gold medalist is clearly slicker and sharper and has a huge punch himself, will he fight an inside fight as he did versus Wlad or does he utilise a lot of movement countering the core of Wach's work.

As seen by Wilder versus Stiverne the big man not only moves well he hasn't an issue fighting on the move, Wach should be a much easier target though not softer by any means. I would say if Povetkin can land his left hook like Stiverne landed on Wilder in the sixth round of their respective fight, he could quite possibly be the first man to stop not only Wilder but Wach also.
