Comments Thread For: Terence Crawford A Hit In Ring, At Box Office And On Air

As Terence Crawford and his team plead their case to land a showdown with Manny Pacquiao, the latest news surrounding his last fight only strengthens his case.

The unbeaten super lightweight titlist looked sensational in a 10th round stoppage of Dierry Jean this past Saturday in front of a sold-out crowd at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The bout served as the lone live attraction of an HBO-televised tripleheader, with the main event playing to 1.071 million homes, with a peak audience of 1.2 million viewrs.

Crawford's latest ratings score saw a 7% increase in viewership from his last bout, in which he claimed the super lightweight title in a 6th round knockout of Thomas Dulorme this past April. Their clash played to just over 1 million hopes, peaking at just under 1.1 million viewers, serving as the opening leg of a split-site doubleheader featuring Lucas Matthysse in a 12-round win over Ruslan Provodnikov. This is not to hate on Crawford, but I honestly believe that the golovkin/choclatic replay really help boost his views.

Not really because it was only a 7% bump from his fight with Dulorme.

            this ^^^

But with that being said, I can see Crawford becoming much more popular than he is now, especially if the Pac fight happens. He's a very likeable guy, and his style is more exciting than Floyd's, even if he doesn't have the same kind of persona outside of the ring.

            The problem:
Pac and co. know that Terence is the tougher fight and the more difficult style, and he is less known than Amir Khan.

Crawford deserves it though, and I hope a shameless money grab doesn't ruin this opportunity.

Wow very little turned in to watch GGG/Lemiuex. Good for Crawford but i remember hearing Max say something like "this place isnt as packed as it was for Gamboa but still a good crowd" So if he made a comment like that how can it be a sell out. They also got lucky game 7 wasnt this night. Came close though haha!

Anyway good for Crawford and boxing

lol at Broner fans thinking you have to act like a complete ****** to win over American fans. TC proves that skillz do pay the bills and save the antics for the ring. I knew TC was going to be special the when I seen him school Prescot, not saying Prescot was a world beater (although his KO of Khan was hilarious) TC took that fight on short notice, moved up in weight and school a quick handed power puncher. Anyways #warCRAWFORD

Crawford WILL be elite one day. He is not ready for Pac Man and I see a UD for Pac. TC is not ****** enough for *****s or Wardies but I will say this: If TC does fight the best P4P fighter of the last ten years (Pac Man) and you are a Pac fan you will be a hater, a racist and not know anything about boxing. Just saying.
