This is what I don't get.. Some people bring up the Angulo fight. Like that's the determining factor why Lara has no shot..

Yet one of ggg's best wins, or overhyped ones, is against a guy Angulo got rid of in 2 rounds(rosado.) I guess Rosado must be on another level in regards of being worthy enough of sharing the ring with ggg

And the reason most of them carry on (and on and on and on) about it is because they know the fight makes ZERO sense, has promotional conflicts, and is unlikely to ever be made. So they can safely scream "DUCK!!" even though its an absurd premise.......
Is that the same Angulo fight that Lara broke Angulos face and blew out his eye and made him quit. Lara should be given props for coming back after being KD twice and taking Angulo out in a fight he supposed to lose.

I just don't get how people wouldn't want to see this fight, Look at Laras resume.Itd be The best #1 160 fighting In my opinion the number #1 154.

But none of the above changes the fact that as of now, I don't see anything about Lara that tells me he doesn't get crushed by GGG. That doesn't mean Lara is a worse boxer than other fighters I might give a better chance. That's because skill level isn't the only factor - you gotta consider size, styles, strength etc as well. Also, in boxing it is often the case that the transitive property doesn't apply. Aka if Boxer A beats B, and B beats C, you can't conclude that A will necessarily beat C.
Lee would get outboxed with ease. He may get knocked out by Lara. Cotto, Canelo and Lara all beat Lee. Lee is the best MW after GGG, but it's a division lacking elites. So the best of the JMW's would beat the best of the MW's. Cotto already took down two top 5 MW's easily.

look, if the circumstances work and they make the fight, fine, ill certainly watch it. But reality has to surface sometimes. There is NO public demand for the fight (7 guys on a message board dont count), there are promotional and broadcaster conflicts (hbo/pbc), and there are economic challenges (pbc paid lara a million for delvin rodriguez, so how much would he demand for ggg?)

its not an easy fight to make, and 99.9% of the people involved (everyone except lara and decubis) probably think it isnt worth the effort

            but GGG ducking doe.

            lol

You know Rosado was able to fight on HBO, right?
How is Lara going to fight on HBO?

Mayweather vs Augustus was the fight that made Floyd an underdog vs Corrales. People thought, man if he struggled like that against a showcase fight, journeyman, got his nose busted, #5 P4P, #1 ranked SFW, bigger, taller Corrales will kill him. Mayweather shocked everyone by outboxing, outsmarting, avoiding Corrales punches, and stopping Corrales. But the consensus was that, if Emmanuel did that, Corrales will kill him.

Much like you think its obvious that Lara beats Lee, I think it's obvious that GGG beats Lara. And much how you would need to see GGG-Lara, I would need to see Lara-Lee (before I can credit him as being able to beat him).

So, according to some of the folks this thread, boxers should not focus on unifying the titles in their own division. They should only be concentrating on the division below and above them. Ok

Johnson won the eliminator and is a mandatory. The winner of Lee-Saunders and Cotto-Canelo have belts in his division. They should come first.

Like a few other people have pointed out, if Lara is serious (and he's not) about fighting GGG, how about moving up to 160 and fighting some of the "bums" (Lemiux, Monroe or Murray would be a good place to start) actually proving you can fight at the weight and deserve a shot at the best in the division? Then he'd have a point.

I can already picture the threads:

                      "Gennady beat a JMW DOE"
                      "Canelo leftovers doe"
                      "Angulo almost beat him doe"
