Comments Thread For: Stevenson vs. Kovalev: WBC Pushing For The Fight

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman reports that the WBC will continue to do whatever needs to be done to try to make Adonis Stevenson vs. Sergey Kovalev a reality for the unification of all championship belts in the light heavyweight division.

President Sulaiman met Kovalev last weekend at Madison Square Garden and Sergey, who won the coveted WBC Diamond Belt, confirmed his desire to fight Stevenson, and claimed that is the only fight he cares about and wants.

Might as well get this done while Ward takes on his string of tuneups.

Only problem is Duva doesn't have pockets deep enough to outgun Haymon if it goes to a purse bid showdown which I don't understand because both fighters will get paid heavily. Most likely she'll probably hide behind HBO's shoulder as the result of last time.

If you were managing Kovalev you wouldn't want one side to deal with all the promotion. You manage the #1 guy with 3 belts and you get bought out of promotion? Bull****.

They should be able to negotiate instead of Haymon forcing it into a purse bid. Haymon refuses to negotiate with Duva's team and make it seem like Kova and Duva are running when they simply want a fair negotiations instead of a purse bid.

They will all get paid good regardless of what happens, it just should be done at the table not with who has the biggest check to buy the promotion rights.

The honorable pimp, Adonis Stevenson, says that he only wants to fight Kovalev immediately. And who am I, a mere boxing fan, to doubt the pimp (human trafficker), Adonis Stevenson, when he says something? After all, if I can't trust a pimp, then who can I trust?

This should just go to purse bid again by end of year, and let the fighters get the most money from whoever offers the best deal, and have the fight next March or April...

Let's everyone get your ****s down. It's not going to happen due to HBO commitments and they are looking at setting up a fight with Ward in 2016. Calm down.

Never got into the red tape and beef between the two fighters promotional en****** in the past, or really care now.

                    Make the fucking fight already.
