Comments Thread For: WBO Issues 'Show Cause' Letter To Guillermo Rigondeaux

Guillermo Rigondeaux has thus far proven to be invincible in the ring, yet not quite as controlling when it comes to garnering airtime.

The unbeaten wunderkind from Cuba is now in jeopardy of falling prey to the sanctioning bodies.

The World Boxing Organization has issued Rigondeaux (15-0, 10KOs) a "show cause" letter to convince the sanctioning body not to strip him of the title he's held for nearly 30 months. The southpaw claimed the WBO title in a 12-round decision over Nonito Donaire in April '13, laying claim to the World lineal championship in the process.

These belt mobsters need to be abolished. If Rigo was making big money they wouldnt care. This just means Blob ArScum has someone he wants to hold the belt so he's paying the WBO off. Rigo sucks but this is BS

I mean, what do you expect to happen? The WBO isn't a model organization but they have a business to run.

      I blame Caribe.

The WBO is a for profit organization. They make money off active champions. Caribes job is to keep their fighter active.

Rigo is in big trouble if he gets stripped... part of his appeal is that he has two belts. If he loses this one, the incentive for other champions to fight him becomes less, and if he loses the WBA belt well then he's likely never going to get a big name to fight him again.
