Comments Thread For: Wilder-Duhaupas Gets Prelim Rating of 2.365 Million

The final hour of Saturday’s “Premier Boxing Champions” broadcast — which featured nearly all of Deontay Wilder’s entertaining title defense against Johann Duhaupas — averaged a preliminary rating of 2.365 million viewers in what was the first major heavyweight broadcast on NBC since the 1985 fight between Larry Holmes and Carl “The Truth” Williams.

It'll be interesting to find out what the final count of how many watched Wilder-Duhaupas will be. I say it'll be the best viewed PBC card.

Please note this is Wilder against a nobody, a dude barely thought of in Europe. If Wilder foughts Fury/Klitschko/Joshua on PBC, the ratings would be through the roof.

Initial card will be hard to beat. Peak was in the 4 millions and pre-lim ratings were about a million higher than this

That's pretty damn good. Wilder is definitely headed in the right direction but still has miles to go.

                    Thurman-Guerrero (Last hour averaged 3.462M)

                    Garcia-Peterson (Last hour averaged 3.019M)

                    Broner-Porter (Last hour averaged 2.843M)

                    Wilder-Duhaupas (Last hour averaged 2.365M)

PBC needs to reverse this trend of diminishing returns. Khan-Garcia 2, Thurman-Porter, Wilder-Povetkin... fights like that.
