  • Comments Thread For: Nicholas Walters, Donaire Double Possible, 12/12 on HBO

There was talk of former WBA featherweight titlist Nicholas Walters (26-0, 21KOs) facing Yuriorkis Gamboa and former multi-divisional champion, Nonito Donaire (35-3, 23KOs) taking on Scott Quigg in the fall. Alas, neither bout will come to fruition and with that Top Rank has to come up with dates and dance partners for both Walters and Donaire.

If a Frampton fight materializes then it's okay.
Also where is the possible location for this 12/12 fight?
Walter's fight was empty last time after Verdejo left.... so maybe Cali?

I wonder if Walters can make 126 again. And if he can, I wonder if they'd put him in with Castellanos - that would be fantastic.

Both of those fights would've been beyond great for all types of fans

Its disappointing that walters and Loma are not fighting each other and instead look to be in with guys they can easily beat.

Nice to see a father and son on the same card.

at this point i'm siding with walters. with or without his belt that fight is/was big. i'm sure that walters would have accepted the fight if it was offered. it was perfect timing for loma's team that walters missed weight

HBO puts on 20% of the number of shows that PBC does, yet they still have the gall to put Golovkin-Lemieux on PPV and match Walters with a second no-hoper in a row in a main event.

Exactly. You know that HBO Boxing is running out of options when they have to put Golovkin-Lemieux on PPV instead of HBO WCB.
