Marvin “Marvelous” Sonsona, the talented southpaw from General Santos City, has lost a chance to fight for the WBC world featherweight title against champion Gary Russell of the United States following his failure to show up for training.

Sammy Gello-ani, who handles Sonsona together with well-known international promoter and matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz, told the New Standard/BoxingScene.com that Sonsona had “extended his vacation and if he doesn’t come back to training camp in Cebu under veteran trainer Jhun Agrabio, we are not going to run after him.”

Didn't Haymon just sign this kid? I remember in Canada he was developing a little fanbase when he fought there before he lost. they were hyping him up big time, dude has pop but he is weak and cant focus.

So some chick is playing with his heart? man when will guys wake up? If a chick is playing with you when you got a title fight the biggest fight of your career she is an narcissistic shallow, inconsiderate heartless spoiled insecure no good woman. A good woman will be supportive and make sure you focus.

Most of these Eastern Euro fighters like GGG, Kovalev, Vitali, etc have good women who don't cause drama before fights to let their men bring home the bacon and focus.
