Comments Thread For: Wladimir Klitschko Sees Wilder vs. Povetkin as 50-50 Fight

Heavyweight titleholder Deontay Wilder and his mandatory challenger, Alexander Povetkin, aren’t yet scheduled to fight. But if and when they do, the true heavyweight champion of the world says he’ll have a hard time picking the winner.

Wladimir Klitschko is familiar with both, after all. He fought Povetkin in late 2013, winning a one-sided unanimous decision. And he’s hosted Wilder in training camp, working with the young, tall and powerful American fighter.

I don't think I understand the "African American" comment below. Was there some confusion in the first place?

            Food for thought, kiddo...
"There is no such thing as race. None. There is just a human race -- scientifically, anthropologically. Racism is a construct, a social construct."

Wilder is still unproved, really. He is still that dark horse of the HW division. Povetkin is a solid, proven fighter. I would favor Povetkin slightly, I think he could stop Wilder.

povetkin has much better technical skills than wilder. the only thing wilder has over povetkin is reach and one punch power. wilder cant rip combinations from body to head like povetkin and he looks like hes fighting on damn stilts. really cant see wilder having much of a chance unless he landed a helluva bomb early on povetkin

I don't know; Povetkin showed pretty good one-punch power over Perez... But I wholeheartedly agree with your conclusion.
