Martin Murray expected a tougher challenge than the disappointing effort that was put forth by Jose Miguel Torres. Their super middleweight clash Saturday evening in Leeds, England—saw Murray score seven knockdowns en route to a 5th round knockout, his third win in the span of eight weeks since signing with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing in June.

The bout with Torres was supposed to be a step up in class, but the Colombian ****er struggled to remain on his feet, hitting the canvas a dozen or so times between knockdowns, slips and attempted clinches.

Wouldn't mind seeing Murray and Ward. Hopefully Murray fights a better level of comp. In his next fight, if he were to win it would make a Ward fight intriguing. I always thought Murray was a big middleweight, he looks good, and strong at the higher weight, hes going to give the top guys a lot of problems at super middleweight.

he cant punch he has no speed..he's not going to give anyone a problem...stopping a cripple sergio was a disgrace on cotto's record they say, but this joke going 12 rounds with the same cripple is amazing! the double standard alone concerning 2 fighters that i dont even care for as faves makes me want to see this bum on his backside proving that he is no more than a bum...but he'll fight the other bum abraham and probably have a close fight and ppl will call him great again

Murray looks great at super middle. It's his natural weight

He's a strong, slow guy so moving up may have far more benefits than risks for him. Not much speed to lose (may even gain some if he has trouble cutting).

With that said he's not going to reign anywhere at any weight. He's one of those guys who adds depth to a division but has no chance of ruling it.

Murray/Ward would make for great build-up/comparison for Golovkin/Ward. However due to visa issues, Murray cannot fight in the US.

It sounds like the winner of Chudinov/Buglioni could get Murray? The winner then has to fight Sturm (a good rematch for Murray) and the winner of that would be mando for Ward.
