  • Comments Thread For: Roach Still Banks on Cotto Knocking Canelo Out Late

Freddie Roach, the trainer of WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs), is still predicting that his fighter is going to win, by knockout, when he defends his belt against Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) at a catch-weight of 155-pounds on November 21 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The championship event will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View.

Yeah, because we all expected Roach to predict Cotto winning by decision.

I think they should move early, as well. Frustrate canelo, then take him out.

First off they are just beating thier metaphysical meat with that catchweight junk. They are little middleweights. Secondly I would think the shorter, older guy would tire late and not the other way around. Too bad Cotto is so old, as a fighter, but then he'd still be a jr welter other wise. Canelo just loves blown up jr welters.

Of course he does. If I am correct that is what he predicts in every fight for all his fighters lol. Cotto is going to get beaten up and stopped late.

War Canelo! (And end Roach's vastly overrated coaching/training career please)

Talk is cheap Roach! When Cotto feels those Chingasos he will be back peddling in retreat!

Seems that the majority of the shit talking is coming from Cotto and his team. Especially the fanboys. Going to be hilarious if it backfires.

Canelo really respects Cotto based on the interviews I've listened to.
