  • Comments Thread For: Julio Ceja Embraces Jamie McDonnell Revenge Match

Staples Center, Los Angeles, California - Julio Ceja (30-1, 27 KOs) showed a lot of heart and determination in his fifth round knockout of Hugo Ruiz, (35-2, 30 KOs).

Ceja was dropped pretty hard in the third round and honestly admits Ruiz had him in serious trouble. But he recuperated and came back to knock Ruiz down even harder in the fifth and punished his Mexican countryman until the referee stepped in. Ceja captured the WBC's interim super bantamweight title with the victory.

Ceja looked awful last night up until the knockout. I wouldn't pick him to win a rematch with McDonnell.

Hugo Ruiz is better than McDonell.

        height 5' ˝

        reach 69 ˝

He is a giant in the división.

McDonell just ran in that fight with Ceja. In 122 in a neutral place would be easy work for Ceja.

Mcdonnell is 5 ' 10 with a 72 inch reach, he's bigger than that Ruiz dude ,do your research! Mcdonnell should be a reigning 3 belt bantamweight world champion by the IBF WBA and WBO but was stripped by 2 of them for ****** reasons. I see your one of them if you don't ******ly stand toe to toe and give away your advantages your just a scared runner critics. This is boxing not MMA. The art of hit and not be hit. Go to MMA if all you want is fight of the year scraps.

I did think that the scoring was off in that first fight, but is anyone realy interested in ceja he's limited he needs revamping, like atlas was saying he gets inside then wastes his efforts by retreating back. He's too on his toes and is just realy awkward, he cant get his shots off. He's B level. He's trying to be like gonzales but he hasnt got the poise or technique down.
