Comments Thread For: WBC Prez: Decision on Mayweather Belts at Convention

New York - There hasn’t been a fighter more synonymous with the green belt this era than Floyd Mayweather, Jr (48-0, 26 KO’s). Mayweather currently holds the WBC world titles in the welterweight division and super welterweight division.

The president of the WBC Mauricio Sulaiman says the reasoning for a delay in Mayweather facing a mandatory challenger in either division is because the sanctioning body left the door open in order to allow Mayweather to face Manny Pacquiao.

Sorry but the WBC needs to strip Mayweather of the 154 belt or give him the emeritus tag. The fact they allowed him to defend it vs maidana in the rematch is a joke alone. They didn't treat Sergio Martinez like this.

"We did everything to make that fight happen"

Including sitting on your collective @sses for 5 years instead of making them each others mandatory. Just like you let Sergio Martinez take the Cotto fight even though he had made a voluntary defense Murray in Argentina who's would've been mandatory back then is still waiting and watching.

They can't set aside the great Floyd Mayweather. That's understandable.
