Comments Thread For: Ricky Hatton Baffled With Shane Mosley's Ring Return

Ricky Hatton is baffled by "Sugar" Shane Mosley's decision to return to the ring this coming Saturday night in a rematch against Ricardo Mayorga at The Forum in Los Angeles, California.

Mosley (47-9-1-39 KOs), who is nearly 44-years-old and inactive for nearly two years, is bankrolling the fight with his personal promotional company and says he is financially sound.

Hatton himself made an ill-advised return in 2012 after a three year layoff, and quickly went back into retirement after suffering a knockout loss. Hatton recently pleaded with close friend Oscar de la Hoya, who was pondering the idea of a comeback but eventually ruled out the idea.

This is where hatton has it wrong "...doesn't need the money."

But he does, what people do not understand is just cause you have more money then average say you and me (50K a year) doesnt mean they rich. Mosley way of living is not sustainable with his current money situation, yes he can cut some things out but not (i.e. child support, school etc) so say he has 1 million dollars in the bank with in 5 years that money will be depleted and what now?

Mosley is in a bad spot right now and its hard to feel bad for him cause he is a PED user so he been cheating the sport of boxing forever but at the same time he is human and you feel for em'.

Hey coke-head loser Hatton... "Model professionals" don't do steroids. Sucka Shame Boresly should have all his"wins" overturned to NC's and hr should be bannedf from any boxing event under as a fighter or promoter.

Mosley need the money. His ex-wife Jin took him for nearly everything he owned, that is why he is also trying to annul their marriage, claiming she was already married when Mosley married her. Just another boxer who did not know how to manage his money and married a gold-digger, sad.

A good and informative article yet people are spoiling it with their immaturity. Its good lookibg into the thoughy process of those who step in the ring when they are past their vest; I don't think people realise what a vicious cycle it is: there is the craving for redemption which gets stronger but more difficult with each ill advised return.

It was probably always going to happen this way for Shane when I really think about it. It bums me out, Shane was always a warrior and he's one of the toughest dudes of the last couple decades. But the tough guys with those types of chins and resolve always tend to stay around too long.

Really don't want to see Shane get wiped up.. but his speed is gone, his snap is gone. It was already well on it's way out by the time he fought Floyd and Manny. He was Canelo's punching bag after that.

He can be in shape but he won't come to terms with the fact that all of his best weapons are MIA in 2015. He probably just needs a tougher financial adviser who can be real with him, as he most likely needs to reign in his lifestyle and spending habits a little.
