IMO Ward is currently a better boxer than GGG but to say that Ward and GGG are both A sides is just wrong. One of them just fought on BET and the other one is about to sell out the MSG. The reality is unless Ward plans to move to 175, he needs GGG more than GGG needs him. Who else is he gonna fight at 168? Unfortunately the A side in boxing is more about drawing power than records. Sometimes the A side is a proven fighter sometimes he is not (Chavez JR)...I like Ward but I am not sure I would pay to see him fight (PPV) but I will be at the Garden in October for GGG - Lemieux...

On top of that ward is trying to get on cottos undercard.

Cotto is a possible GGG opponent .

That makes ward the C side.. dude is from the winky wright school of business.

GGG is the A side for sure. 164 or gtfoh.

This thing with 164 was just Team GGG kicking the diva out of Ward. As a promoter/manager I'd make fights in this order when my fighter's reputation is established and brand value still increasing - as in GGG's case:
        1/ Low risk/High Reward
        2/ medium risk/High reward
        3/ low risk/ medium reward
4/ medium risk / medium reward
5/ high risk - high reward
6/ high risk - medium reward (Ward fight)

And try to avoid all low reward fights. Now you see where Ward figure's on team GGG's priorities. Optimum fight is Mayweather or Cotto as they are number 1/ and 2/ depending on the weight drain effect.
GGG - Chavez was also probably perceived as low risk-high reward - so a no-brainer.

GGG proposition of 164 pounds and 50/50 split sets a starting point for possible negotiations with Ward. It could be at 168, but then the split should be in GGG favor like 75/25. Or it could be at 160 with larger part of the split going to Ward. Basically GGG is just telling Ward to cut his expectations, as it should not be at 168 with 50/50 at this point of their careers. However that stance can change in the future. If Ward develops drawing power it maybe that GGG would start pursuing a fight with him. Who knows?

Yep - that is close. Ward fight is not desirable at this point as it is high risk and medium reward. If ward can make it high reward by increasing his fan appeal then that may see fight get made at 168.

No worries Bread, GGG/Ward is almost surely to happen in the future.

People want to act like GGG doesn't wanna fight anybody and all they got is one name of a fighter in a higher weight class. Not a lot to hold on a guy.
