  • Comments Thread For: Adonis Stevenson: Pascal Will Have To Earn His Shot

WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson is still interested in facing countryman Jean Pascal - but only if Pascal works his way up the ladder with the official rankings.

Pascal was the mandatory challenger for much of last year, but he two sides were unable to reach a financial agreement. Pascal walked away from his mandatory spot and accepted a fight with WBA/IBF/WBO champion Sergey Kovalev, who won their March bout by knockout.

he's punishing pascal..and he's actually right..not just bc pascal did way more than he had to with name calling, but bc pascal was the number 1 contender and he fought kovalev bc he would make more money

stevenson was fine with the fight going to purse bid bc he gets 75% of the take..pascal didnt like it..the champ wants his money..might be wrong, but pascal felt he was a bigger draw and above a purse bid only to get ktfo...too bad

first hopkins ducked by outpricing and makin kovalev take less, then pascal did it, then kovalev ducks purse bid

i give the dude a pass on whoever he fights..these are the facts

those guys were not already number 1 contenders and went to face kovalev instead of waiting for a the fight to be ordered tho...u have to understand how much disrespectful talking pascal did in order to make the fight instead of letting stevenson defend vs a haymon guy to keep them happy and then have the fight ordered.

it's business..not satisfying pascal..now he's been ko'd and is in no position to get the shot that he was guaranteed

Stevenson is irrelevant, Kovalev would school this fool. Keep fighting the top rated light heavyweights; Bika, Sukostsky, and Karpency lmao that's an all star line up right there lmao.

The problem is it looks bad when you say a guy like Pascal doesn't deserve a shot (regardless of his recent fights) when Bika, Sukotsky, and Karpency is the opposition you are facing.
I mean, that makes most of the division(and in the case of Bika, the super middleweight division) look qualified.

Is it me or every champion who hold the WBC strap usually talks, acts like a Diva? I think in Cotto, Wilder, Adonis...
