Comments Thread For: Crawford-Jean Tops 10/24 Day/Night HBO Doubleheader

With confirmation of Terence Crawford and Dierry Jean finalizing terms for their upcoming super lightweight fight, HBO now has a potent one-two punch for its October 24 telecast. The super lightweight title fight serves as the tail end of a split site day/night doubleheader, which includes World heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in a mandatory title defense versus unbeaten challenger Tyson Fury.

Both bouts will air live, beginning with Klitschko-Fury headlining a special matinee edition of HBO World Championship Boxing. The heavyweight championship bout airs at 5:00 p.m. ET, live from Dusseldorf, Germany.

HBO will replay the bout later in evening, with a second edition of World Championship Boxing kicking off at 9:30 p.m. ET. Immediately following the replay, Crawford will make the first defense of his super lightweight title versus Jean, live from CenturyLink Center in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. That's a pretty damn solid card there plus the double header aspect.

There were better people available for Crawford to fight but HBO/TR went with Jean. Not great but not terrible either. Both fights are worth watching IMO.

If this fight was on PBC people would lose their shi*t...

It's time for Crawford to step up and fight somebody above C level who's actually his own size, people have this guy ranked top 10 P4P...

          Good card.

Dierry jean is vastly underated and has a fun style to watch.
This is gonna be a good fight.

Cant wait to see wlad vs fury. I think both hit the deck. And wlad edges him. Setting up a rematch

Horrible card. Did anyone else want to throw up when you tread this? Lamont already dominated this dude

Klitschko/Fury...horrible? It's prob the best fight to be made outside of Canelo/Cotto. Crawford/Jean on the other hand is pretty bad.

Fights and wins over Burns and Gamboa made me a Crawford fan but his recent run has just been bad. Dulorme and now Jean, who lost to an ancient Judah if I'm not mistaken. Come on now.
