  • Comments Thread For: Bernard Hopkins Eyes Abraham Title Fight, Even in Europe

New York - 50-year-old future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins (55-7-2, 32 KO’s) wants one more fight as his final swan song. And this time he is aiming at WBO super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (43-4, 29 KO’s) as his next target.

“I’m not retired,” Hopkins said at the press conference to announce the fight between Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux. “I want to make another historic achievement. I skipped over the super middleweight division. I want from 160 straight to 175 and they said I was crazy. I see a guy out there in Arthur Abraham. He’s a big name and a very durable guy to fight. He has one of the toughest defense like Winky Wright.”

Old man Popkins is at it again. I think he beats Abraham but it's no gimme fight.

They're thick skinned in Germany and have a "so what" attitude to criticism over visiting fighters getting crapped on there by judges, but this I think would be different. Hopkins can handle and outwit and negate the power of plodder Abraham with plenty to spare imo and I reckon even the Germans would be too embarrassed to put judges in place who might rob the ancient one after watching B-Hop outclass their guy. Then again, maybe they wouldn't give a damn!!!

Abraham cannot win a decision against Hopkins with the peek-a-boo. No way to do it with a poor work rate.

Why would they fight in Australia?

Bhop is going to pull it off. Ride off into the sunset with a win and a belt.

Abraham is the perfect Opponent for Hopkins to win another title. Abrahams training-routine is lackluster, he lost the fire years ago and has low workrate.

They might call it a draw and B-Hop would rematch him for another payday.
