BoxingScene.com has been advised that an all-Birmingham clash between British and Commonwealth welterweight champion Sam ‘The Savage’ Eggington (16-2, 9 KOs) and Frankie Gavin (22-2, 13 KOs) is “80% done”.

A source close to Eggington’s camp told ‘Scene that they will know for “definite in the morning”. The fight would headline Eddie Hearn’s October 17 card in Birmingham, also featuring world middleweight contender Matthew Macklin and the Yafai brothers Gamal and Kal with the latter contesting the vacant British super flyweight title against Jason Cunningham.
