Former lightweight contender Ray Beltran has been suspended for nine months by the Nevada Athletic Commission due to his coming up positive for the banned substance stanozolol in testing done for his May 1 technical knockout win over Takahiro Ao.
The commission voted unanimously on the punishment during its Aug. 13 meeting.
Stanozolol, which is also known as Winstrol, is a steroid that also gets rid of fat without getting rid of muscle.
