Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez: My Mission is To Knock Viloria Out!

The champion is happy and satisfied and his wishes have been fulfilled. As previously reported, Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez will face Brian Viloria on October 17 at Madison Square Garden in New York. He was the opponent with whom Gonzalez yearned to fight, and he also gained the best purse of his career.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) flyweight champion admits that the negotiations were not easy. The initial offer did not satisfy Roman, but the negotiations improved and the purse increased.

Roman needs to start fighting guys who are improving in their careers not estradas left overs. I'm not impressed by this.

great scrap. i think i am going to see another ricky hatton vs kostya tszyu, with the young lion taking out the older seasoned fighter. i give viloria a good shot, but gonzalez is something special.

But you're cool with Estrada fighting Tyson Marquez on 09/26?

Not at all, I'm a big roman fan but he's not fighting any guys in their prime lately. This fight isn't a challenge. Viloria has done nothing since losing to Estrada. He should have fought arroyo who's in his prime and arguably beat amnat.

they are just trying to build Estrada and Chocolatito up for the rematch next year, and hopefully it will be televised

these little guys are a lot better than people give big props to at the higher weights

Brian Viloria is an enigma...he loses fights he should win and wins fights he should lose

No one has ever outclassed him either, Viloria is my fav fighter from the 2000 Olympic class....its amazing he is still around and a top 5 fighter in his division.....Outside of Amnat, Estada, and Choco I'd favor him over everyone else

Roman is still young, its only natural that the young lion pushed the old lion towards walking off in the sunset

it happens everyday in boxing....somebody had to get rid of old faithful Viloria, he just wont go away
