  • Comments Thread For: Khabib Ready, Looks Forward To Stunning Adrien Broner

Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9KOs) has been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. The boxer has been inactive since suffering a controversial twelve round decision loss to Jessie Vargas last April as part of the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley rematch at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

On October 3rd, Khabib will get the opportunity to regain the WBA 'regular' junior welterweight title that was lost to Vargas last year.

Khabib will collide with former three division world champion Adrien Broner (30-2, 22KOs) for the vacant belt.

I thought Khabib did enough to beat Vargas when they fought. Could be a good fight.

No problem with the fight. Big problem with this being for a belt. Both guys coming off losses. One guy a loss and over a year inactive. Other guy a loss above 140 and the fight before he missed weight that was originally 140 and has no quality wins at 140. How the hell does either guy deserve a title a shot? Decent bounce back fight for broner after a loss but this is haymon politics to gift him a paper belt at 140.

Khabib isn't strong enough, he's no Maidana or Thurman. I believe boxing changes and can improve a persona by the demands it makes and the suffering involved, but as long as Broner gets these trinkets thrown his way he is relieved of motivation. His fight is in the gym, if he makes 140 right, he wins. Khabib can be at his best and it's still Broner's to lose.

He could very well do that.

Khabib is a good pressure fighter and the southpaw stance might pose some problems for Broner.

While i do believe Broner has a strenght advantage, he probably won't use it. I can see Khabib roughing Broner up and getting a close decision.

Khabib's not at all a bad fighter. Broner is going to be threatened by anyone who is worth top 10 consideration at 140, and pre-layoff Khabib was certainly that. Hopefully he will not be too badly affected. If not, Broner will need to work hard to win, I think.

This really shouldn't be for a belt, though. Two guys coming off losses? Come on. It's bull****, and meant to be an easy belt for Adrien Broner. Whoever wins this is a fake champ until they beat someone who currently matters at 140.

WAR KHABIB. He is going to TKO Broner, and as a fan of AB.... I can honestly say, this will be easy work for Khabib. Broner should of fought Provodnikov, he would of beaten him, IMO.

Khabib is the best 140lber in the world- hopefully he gets big fights after this and doesn't get robbed anymore. Khabib The Dream will NOT allow the judges to dictate his fate in this fight- he will drop and stop AB by forcing the referee to protect Broner and end it.

Props to both men for taking this fight, and especially Broner. He could of fought another South American commercial fishermen, but instead he's fighting the best 140lber in the world. War BRONER

I'm OKAY with this fight because Khabib got robbed of his regular-WBA title against Vargas, and he deserves a chance to avenge that shady corruption.

Khabib The Dream will shine October 3rd.

Khabib beats anyone at 140, IMHO.
