the top ww contenders should try fighting each other instead of chasing money

Mayweather has one maybe two fights left in his career so that could mean he may be around until 2016

Aftr he beat Manny, there is no clear number one contender or threat in my book

the top rated guy may be brook, but he has the thinnest resume, he does hold the IBF belt and a win over former titleholder Porter but after that their is a huge drop off

Bradley is one of my favorite fighters but I don't think he will make any more noise than he already has at 147.....he is with Bob Arum and the best welterweights are under the PBC banner and with Haymon so I doubt he'd veer fight Mayweather or fight for a chance for the top spot

the others like Keith Thurman, Porter, and Khan may be one big impressive win away from winning the Mayweather sweepstakes

wasting time and not taking fights like Khan or fighting safe fights wont get him in the ring with money, nor will it work for Thurman....it may backfire altogether

Fight number 50, is going to be a fighter coming off a huge win....I think they should have Brook and Khan fight, have Porter and Thurman fight....the winner of those two fights should fight each other, and the winner gets to be number 50....what do you guys think

They would after TBE leaves and to be honest i can't wait for him to do so. Nothing against him in particular but his influence is preventing a lot of this WW from taking any meaningful fight that might be risky to them.

Another thing is your idea of Khan v Brook fighting the Porter v Thurman winner for #50 is a great idea. But those fight would not happen especially when the winner is NOT guaranteed a Mayweather fight.

at least it would clear up who the best welterweight is, besides Mayweather

I have noticed some fighters playing it safe waiting on their shot with money....Maybe it not them but whoever is advising them or managing them...Like Khan who passed up on Alexander but end up fighting him anyway for no title....that wasn't very smart....then goes on to fight Algieri who isn't a top 50 ww and Collazo who hasn't been a top ten ww in some time

Plenty of good fights we can get at 154 as well, it's like they know how to dig up useless fights.

i'm thinking that we will get thurman-khan and porter-garcia relatively soon and mayweather will pick garcia or khan for #50 if they pass their tests. there's nothing stopping eddie hearn from working with arum, so hopefully that means brook-bradley can happen in 2016 (considering that khan will likely either lose to thurman or garcia or finally get the mayweather fight, thus ruling out a brook clash, and that bradley will be completely out of options after rios and ali). hopefully maidana will be back at 147 at some point too, as on his day he could potentially beat any of those guys imo

Mayweather says this is his last fight. I take people at their word unless they are a proven liar. Unless Mayweather is lying this is his last fight forever so the top welterweights can quit chasing him right now and start fighting each other. Brook, Khan, Maidana, Porter, Garcia and Thurman are the clear top contenders now. Haymon manages most of these fighters so he needs to quit matching them into unranked fighters and start matching them into each other. Bradley and Pacquiao are both top contenders but being with Top Rank makes it hard to match them into Golden Boy and Haymon fighters. But Porter, Khan, Brook, Garcia and Thurman need to start fighting each other NOW unless they are a bunch of cherry picking chickens. Porter says he wants Thurman for his next fight. Good for Porter. Now all Thurman has to do is say yes and we have the kind of best against the best fight we have been having so little of these days. Brook is fighting Chavez which is a reasonable fight considering how hard he has tried to get Khan to fight him only to be turned down flat. Khan needs to quit being a cry baby and telling Mayweather to man up and fight him. Khan needs to shut up and man up himself and fight Garcia, Maidana, or Brook instead of the unranked, punchless guys he has been fighting.

The reality of life, at least the reality of life in the US, is getting money. Pretty much some large part of every persons day who's of working age is about acquiring money & preferable the most money they can get without committing a crime or selling their soul. Why people think boxers should be any different then the rest of us makes no sense to me.
