Comments Thread For: Berto: I've Got The Power, Speed To KO Mayweather

Former champion Andre Berto (30-3, 23KOs) is a few short weeks away from the biggest fight of his professional career. On September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Berto will challenge the pound-for-pound king, Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs), for the WBC/WBA welterweight titles. The fight will headline a Showtime Pay-Per-View event.

Berto is a very big underdog in the fight. Nearly everyone is expecting Mayweather to win easily. The oddsmakers are tabbing Mayweather as the betting favorite - by a mile. Some outlets have him listed as low as a 40-1 favorite and others as high as an 80-1 winner. [Click Here To Read More]

He does have the speed and power to do so. But he Lacks ring smarts, experience, stamina.

I think this will be a pretty good fight, even better that the Pacman fight. But at about the 4th Round Mayweather will cruise and frustrate Berto.

Berto is going to give Floyd a tougher and more competitive fight than Pacquiao...that's for damn sure.

Pac had power and speed, that's not what's needed to beat Mayweather. Fighters need to be able to switch game plans to keep him off balance. Chasing him all fight or sitting back letting him pot shot you when he chooses is how he wins. He dictates the pace. Maidana took that from him but at the same time only had one game plan, bull rush.
