Comments Thread For: Photos: Cuadras, Flores Make WBC Seven Day Weights

WBC super flyweight champion Carlos “Principe” Cuadras (32-01, 25KOs), and his upcoming challenger Dixon Flores (11-2-2), are preparing to deliver appreciably more than three strikes in the coming week, at the Baseball Park Alberto Vega Chavez, in Guamuchil, Sinaloa.

Both boxers passed the pre-weighin, required by the WBC, in observance with carefully formulated health and safety protocols. The champion tipped at 122-pounds on the scales, while his rival Flores was a little lighter at 118-pounds.

This is a strong contender for being the weakest title defence of the year. From what I can make out Flores' ranking by the WBC is completely unjustified.

Depressing stuff, Cuadras needs to pick it up and actually face a worthy opponent soon. Since winning the title and fighting a decent contender in Salgado, he hasn't done much else. Beating an Over the hill Nica and a journeyman does nothing for his career.
