    Highly-touted featherweight Oscar Valdez will face contender Chris Avalos on September 11, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman informed BoxingScene.com.

    The 10 round bout will take place at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas and will be televised live on TruTV.

    Frank Espinoza, who manages the unbeaten Valdez, also confirmed this to Boxingscene.com on Thursday afternoon.

    This looks like a real step up for Valdez.

        Good step up for Valdez. Didn't look great in his last fight and Avalos has been in with some good fighters, though he showed very little when he was blasted by Frampton.

                Are you down to bet? Obviously, I don't have many points so maybe we could do a points vs something else bet?

                Unless Avalos' power has a big impact on Valdez this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Valdez is faster and has a better work rate along with movement. Avalos hasn't shown his power at Super Bantam and this fight will be at Feather.

                  No is not, Avalos just fought at 122 and now they are bring him to 130? Are you kiding me! If the want a real challenge, there is Magdaleno, B. Vazquez, JC Burgos.

                    Avalos is the smaller guy which is why they made it but brings experience pretty good matchup for Valdez if he struggles then TR might have a problem
