  • Comments Thread For: Lee Vows 'Painful Lesson' For Saunders Over ***ist Jabs

WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee has promised to punish undefeated Billy Joe Saunders over his recent controversial comments that he made with respect to women becoming professional boxers.

Lee, a 2004 Olympian, makes a mandatory defense against Saunders, a 2008 Olympian, at T****nd Park on September 19. Promoters expect over 30,000 fans to attend the show.

Immature is the right word for such remarks, if Saunders actually made them, but if a lesson gets handed out in the ring I reckon Andy is more likely to be on the receiving end, speed and skills wise. Lee has the power to maybe rescue the situation and get a stoppage at any stage but should Saunders start fast and hit his rhythm it's not impossible that the Hatfield ***** wins inside the distance himself through volume landed even though his single punch power is nothing much. May the better man win is always my mantra but I do have a liking for Andy Lee. He's a nice guy who has persevered through dodgy career moments and Manny Steward would be smiling with pride that he won a title in the end.

I saw the interview and he said it, but he did'nt say it the way it is being talked about. You could tell he was having fun with it, as he always does in interviews. I can't say I really remember the guy ever really being serious in an interview lol. I also agree that Andy will need a KO to beat this kid.

dang, i've never seen billy ray sanders fight, your analysis though implies we're in for a great fight and confirms that Andy Lee is the only middleweight champion with a respectable resume at middleweight... even though i agree with everything he said i'm surprised sanders made macho comments after searching his name on the internet, in most pictures i see of him he's holding a rainbow belt hehehe
