Comments Thread For: Cotto-Canelo Could Land at Mandalay Bay on Nov. 21

The negotiations continue to finalize the remaining details for the fall HBO Pay-Per-View showdown between WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and challenger Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

The two sides were considering the dates of November 7th and November 21 - with the MGM Grand and the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas and New York's Madison Square Garden as the three venues in the running to host.

The date of November 7th has now been ruled out, according to Cotto's legal adviser Gaby Penagaricano. The MGM Grand is also apparently being ruled out as well.

Oscar has 1/20th the roster size as Haymon. And 10x the amount of quality fights coming up.

            Cotto/canelo, Lemieux/Golovkin, Mattysse/Postol.

If Oscar can put his top guys in big fights why can't Haymon?

This is why I have a S.H.I.E.L.D. list. Even Blob Arums fights are more interesting.

I wish Caesars Palace would get more involved with boxing. The colosseum is beautiful, it gives the fights an epic feeling. It was feature in Southpaw so I don't get why they haven't made a major move yet.

WTF... MGM must be throwing mad cash to land this fight. The Garden is 16,000 seats to the Mandalay Bay at 12,000. Closed circuit going to have to pick up the slack.
