I dunno... Hope my fighter was Vitali? No one else in recent memory matches up favorably.

Maybe play him at his own game, try to frustrate him clinch in close and push him back whilst doing it to the rope, move on the back foot make sure you're circling around staying out of range make him aggressively come forward and hit and run sort of like Donaire Vs Rigo fight but it'd require a big man, easier said than done.

first im assuming my guy is at a size disadvantage:
brawl klitscho, throw big bombs and just keep charging in, keep throwing bombs lookin for the chin.. kinda like hagler hearns... no room to breathe.
when klitschko clinches, punch inside the clinch, if arms locked, headbutt. take all the points off, not gonna win by points anyways lol. oh yea low blows too.
^foul only when klitschko continuously clinches.

              you gotta fight inside period.
you got to wear him down fighting dirty hoping you throw him off. and hope he stays a gentleman about it.
use your elbows, hit him low, when your hugging him ripp your head straight up header his chin.

Nobody ever push back inside, everybody just accepted being held and lean on and does nothing about it. I thought Chisora did the best vs that style when he fought Vitali. Yeah he lost but he did great work inside and punished Vitali to the body and you can see especially later in the fight that those punches took a toll on Vitali, his mouth was open and you can see they was hurting him

You have to get nasty inside with him not just let him hold and lean on top of you and just look over at the Ref for him to help you which is what most fighters do.

Like Kell Brook vs Porter, beat him at his own game, give him a taste of his own medicine but that is easier said than done!
