floyd has NEVER beaten a hof'er in their prime. NOT ONE. pac, cotto, dlh, mosley, etc. were all way past their prime. and marquez was very bloated, poorly conditioned and wasn't using heredia's steroids yet.
He tried to fight Pacquiao in his prime, but Pacquiao was afraid of needles. He didn't fight Cotto and Margarito for $7 million, because he left TR to fight Oscar @ 154, and made more than double! Right now, other than Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, Cotto vs. Alvarez is the biggest fight of 2015! Mayweather has beaten BOTH! Who else can say that? If we can't give credit to Floyd for beating Oscar, Hatton, Marquez, and Mosely, then we can't give high praise for anyone else who beat them AFTER Floyd already did.

    • Guess Boom Boom isn't the only HOF vet who thinks that.

Floyd is top 30 for sure. He is one of the best of this era. Arguably the best of this era.
I want Floyd to reach his latent potential though, that's why he must fight GGG at 160 with a CW. With a CW its possible for Floyd to beat GGG. How about 156?
But if Floyd retires at 50 fights with the last against Pac, I wouldn't hold it against FLoyd. He just wont be the TBE that's all.

So surely by your logic, GGG would get no credit for the win anyway?
Yea true I agree, so Floyd fighting GGG is only a win win for him. If Floyd wins its a truly historic win and it puts him in the rarified air of greatness. If he loses well he fought the biggest guy of his career and its not a shock and it wouldn't drop him any in the spot he's at on the historical latter now.

Now if GGG is to win he wouldn't get as much credit as Floyd would get if he win. Its more of a gamble for GGG. GGG winning is going to be played out as that he beat the smaller guy and he was picking on the smaller guy who was past his prime.

So really IMO Floyd has nothing to lose and everything to gain in fighting GGG. I can be hard on Floyd and his career but im not one of those guys that want him to lose, im one of his true fans that want to see him make history. Id get more enjoyment in seeing Floyd beat GGG than him losing to him.

Your an idiot that think people are wind up toys .

Floyd is nearly 40 and is at least 20% below his best and owned the boxing world for 17 years .
GGG cant go up one division while Floyd has gone up 5 , GGG is ducking Ward while calling out guys that are way smaller than the difference of him vs Ward .

Moving up divisions as you naturally get bigger isn't impressive. If Floyd could move down in weight and beat Lucas, or Garcia now that would be impressive.

GGG is very brave to think he can move down to beat Floyd at 154. That takes more balls than moving up to fight Ward. Well its a toss up but once GGG beats Floyd then he can beat Ward. One step at a time.
Probably Floyd would be easier opponent actually. So one step at a time. Floyds retiring soon so GGG cant move up yet. He would literally have to sprint and rush to to get back down for Floyd.

Dude don't try and rewrite history. The pac thing may have some truth, but those other claims you say are just not correct. The Cotto fight and Margarito fight didn't happen because Floyd left TR. He was offered 8 million to fight Margarito by Arum because at the time he was still with TR but instead he bought out his contract and then took 8 million and 1 dollars from Goosen promotions to fight Baldomir instead. And he tried to fight Cotto at a time when he was still green and not in his prime just yet and Cotto's people said not yet he's not ready and he was still with TR. And he beat a very young not in his prime Alvarez. But don't try and rewrite history.

Now its brave to go down and fight smaller old men at the end of their career , thats not what you said about Manny you flip flopper lol , it was actually the opposite .

Like I said your a kid that thinks these fighters are wind up toys that never get old and never fade while you talk about size and weight with absolutely no idea what your talking about .
