If someone doesn't believe Mayweather is top 10, beating GGG shouldn't put him there. Either he's already there or he's not.

Beating GGG will do nothing more than what Mayweather's win over Alvarez did. A young buck that had to "cut" weight. The excuses will come and people will then claim he's ducking (insert random name from random weight class).

Only way he gets credit is to fight at 160lbs against a 172-178lbs GGG on fight night, fight offensively and stops him, anybody who thinks it is physically possible is a fool.

The same thing was said about Pacquaio 5 years ago. That fight was dismal and most acknowledged it was meaningless by the time it was signed.

Floyd is going to get a lot of credit after he retires. I think as more time goes on, the more people will say how great he was. The truth is people don't like him because to many people he comes off as a very unlikable character and it's difficult for people to give high praise to those they dislike. As time passes, those feelings will too and people will be able to recognize his ring accomplishments and fighting skills for what they truly are. Something about aging that allows people to forgive and forget, look at Tyson he was one of the most hated athletes in the world for a time and now he's everyone's favorite retired boxer. Even Ali was hated by millions of people during the height of his career.
