Comments Thread For: Provodnikov's Promoter Skeptical of Rios HBO Clash

There has been some talk from the side of Brandon Rios about facing either Ruslan Provodnikov or Jessie Vargas in the fall. According to Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, HBO has given them a date for his next bout. Rios is coming off a third round thrashing of Mike Alvarado in January.

For the last year or two, Artie Pelullo of Banner Promotions has been yearning for a match-up between his client( Provodnikov) and Rios, which figures to be a fan-friendly slugfest should it ever come to fruition.

would be bittersweet to see that fight. but if it happens I think rios would take it. How are you gonna let provo fight a iron chinned flatfooted brawler after the mathysee fight? that being said I think rios takes it cause he hasn't been very active and provo could be feeling the affects of the past fight. Rooting for provodnikov thought cause rios and Garcia have been on a high horse like rios is some elite fighter and Garcia is an elite trainer

Please, this would be the greatest fight of all times. Remember the bore fest Runweather vs Paquaio, this would be the exact opposite. And you wouldn't have to shell out 100 bucks either. He'll it would probably be free.

I'm thinking Holyfield vs Bowe 1 Holyfield vs Dokes, Gatti vs Ward 1. But also that this fight would be better than all of them. You know exciting fun fights to watch. I know Floyd Runweather fans have no idea what that means. Skills smills.

Rios-Provo would certainly be an epic event, a true fight fan's wet dream. I can understand if old uncle Bobert wants to keep it in house but it's not the right move.
