Exciting heavyweight Anthony Joshua believes he can earn a world title shot by the end of next year.

The unbeaten 25-year-old has made swift progress in the professional ranks, racking up 13 straight stoppage wins, and returns to action against Gary Cornish at London’s O2 Arena on September 12, live on Sky Sports.

Wladimir Klitschko, the division’s dominant ruler, puts his WBA, WBO and IBF titles on the line against Tyson Fury on October 4, while Deontay Wilder is due to make the second defence of his WBC belt on September 26. [Click Here To Read More]

Unbeaten prospects fighting each other always make for an exciting fight. I dont care what people say about Cornish, hes 21-0 so hes comming to win.

If he keeps winning, it will come obviously; he is about to step up the competition first, though. Fight and beat domestic/ european level rivals first.

Heading into phase 2 now with Joshua, fighting guys hopefully who have the same ambitions as him.

All about guys who are looking to win rather than simply try and take him beyond 4 rounds.

All he needs is a chin check and a few more rounds to prove he don't have problems gassing, but you can't deny he has all the other attributes to be a heavyweight world champion.

cornish has more ambition than AJ prev opponents and is coming to win, not survive or pick up a cheque. He may still lose 1st 1-2 rounds but is coming to win

Eddie Hearn needs to be careful. He's making daft comments about AJ, but still pairing him with limited opposition.

The guy will need rounds before making the step up.

They need to get this guy in with guys he needs to be fearful of being punched back, these cream puffs they keep lining up have zero poke. When he steps up he's gonna be f.ucked hard.

If Joshua beats Cornish and Whyte this year, then 2 or 3 top 10 Heavyweights next year, i'm sure he'd be ready for a world title fight.

However he has to get past Cornish and Whyte first. Whyte in particular is a dangerous opponent. I wouldn't look at their amateur fight as a gauge as to who'll win, but Whyte is dangerous no doubt.

Anybody that complains about Joshua's level of opposition is an idiot. Less than 2 years of pro experience and only 13 fights. Look who Deontay Wilder or even the Klitschkos were fighting in there first 30 or so fights. Hearn does need to stop saying that he'd beat every HW in the world because at the moment he wouldn't.

2 or 3 top ten heavies ? You have to be joking right ? Guys like Fury and Glazkov are loath to face one top 10 guy let alone 3 !

He's talking about fighting for a title next year on the back of a win over Whyte and Teper ? The same Teper guys were saying Price has absolutely to beat because he is 'awful' no doubt he will be a solid opponent upon being lined up for Joshua lol.
