Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Too Big, Too Strong: Decisions Reyes

Don Haskins Center, El Paso, Texas - Mexican star Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (49-2-1, 32 KOs) bounced back with a win, by winning a ten round unanimous decision over his much smaller countryman Marcos Reyes (33-3, 24 KOs) at a catch-weight of 171-pounds. The scores were 97-92, 98-91 and 96-93.

It was Chavez's first bout since the April stoppage loss to light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara.

From the start, it was very evident that Chavez Jr. was much bigger and much stronger than Reyes. Chavez Jr. was doing damage to the head and seemed to hurt Reyes with a big left hook to the body in the second round. Chavez was pressing Reyes against the ropes and unloading with punches.

He shouldn't be, Chavez Jr. never possessed the talent to box, he was only relevant because he was so much bigger than everyone else at '60, now that he can't even make 160, shit he can't even make '68, his career is done.

So a man goes into the ring as a Cruiserweight and gets knocked out by a light heavyweight and the Cruiserweight thinks the light heavyweight is too big and then the same guy goes into the ring as a Cruiserweight against a middleweight??? This is why Chavez Junior is a fraud.
