  • Comments Thread For: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Targets Jack vs. Groves Winner

Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is hoping to get a fight with the winner of next month's bout between WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack and mandatory challenger George Groves.

Chavez returns later tonight in against Marcos Reyes at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. He wants to become the first Mexican fighter to win a world championship at 168-pounds.

The plan for him is to win two more fights quick fights and then go for whichever fighter walks away next month with the WBC crown.

You know,I seriously don't know how this guys brain works. His last fight was at 172,in which he got embarrassed, dropped, and he quit on his stool. Today he's taking a soft touch fight,in which was supposed to be his debut at 168,but the fatass weighs in at 170.8. So his cholesterol infused brain works with the following logic "I get embarrassed and quit at 172,miss weight at a tune up fight by 2.8 lbs,and then I'll get to fight for the lineal title at 168".

He just doesn't get it. He probably thinks he can fight for that belt at a catchweight of 170. The guy is really wearing out his welcome with boxing fans.

Haha, is this guy for real? Though TBH I hope he gets to fight Groves so Groves can deck him for the 2nd time in his career and knock him out.

He'll get that shot regardless if he loses this fight, which is a big possibility bcuz hes overlooking him. I hope that happens too, Reyes can shock this chump. I have no doubt that Reyes has put in more work to get where hes at than Chavez has for his position..im predicting an upset here. Chavez just doesnt understand how real the competition is in this sport..just bcuz they arent on TV dont mean they dont have the goods.
