  • Comments Thread For: GGG's Promoter: Hopkins Could Be Future Foe, Not Now

Tom Loeffler, promoter of IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkib, says 50-year-old living legend Bernard Hopkins is not on their agenda at the moment - but that could change in the future, although Hopkins is not expected to fight for too much longer.

Hopkins last fight came in November, when he lost a twelve round unanimous decision to division ruler Sergey Kovalev.

The 27-year veteran (55-7-2, 32 KOs) would like to get Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) in the ring at a catch-weight in early 2016. Hopkins appears to be wiling to move down as low as the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds.

So ggg will move up to fight a 50plus year old or a b level fighter but won't move up for ward .
He would rather wait for smaller guys like cotto , Bradley or canelo to move up ....

Hopkins is still too much of a step up at 50 years old, they're waiting to make him an offer in the "future" when he is in a nursing home.

Yeah dont fight him yet...... wait until he's asking for a Zimmerframe to be incorperated into his contract stipulations.
