British star Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) believes that both he and Andre Berto are the two fighters in the running to face WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Khan and Berto are stablemates under trainer Virgil Hunter. They also share the same adviser in Al Haymon, who also works with Mayweather.

Khan has long been rumored to be the opponent for Mayweather. But every time it appears the Bolton boxer will land the opportunity, Mayweather comes out of left field with a different selection.

I sure hope it's Berto. That guy's career has been an epic fail and it's not for lack of talent. Just total career mismanagement. He was protected and groomed way too long. Now, he is just inactive. Looked good enough in his last fight. His talent is intriguing and he fights with a lot of heart. He keeps his mouth shut too. I'd like to see him get paid.

She's fighting Berto, this site is slow to pick up the news. This fight would have been good 5 years ago because Berto is past his prime. He aged quickly, knockout loses in all.
