Comments Thread For: Yoan Pablo Hernandez vs. Victor Ramirez Pushed Back

Sauerland Event have announced that IBF cruiserweight champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez (29-1, 14KOs) will not defend his title as scheduled on July 25th against mandatory challenger Victor Emilio Ramirez (22-2, 17 KOs) of Argentina.

The reason was not revealed, but the fight has been pushed back to a date in September. The location will likely remain the same, with the fight being Hernandez's first outside of Germany as he faces the challenger in his backyard of Buenos Aires.

One of the worst lineal champions ever. Between illnesses and injuries he's had two gift decisions over Ross and Arslan.

The IBF should step Hernandez. The guy never fights and hinders others to fight for the title.

True. Lineal means nothing, or does someone really think Hernandez, Stevenson, Cotto are the best in teir divisions..

The IBF should strip Hernandez. The guy never fights, never defends and hinders other fighters who deserve a title shot to fight for the championship.

IBF won't strip him cause they are making more money with one defense by Hernandez than 2 or 3 by another fighter. He gets paid well.
Hernandez wants to fight more but has really bad luck with injuries and illnesses. Last fight against Arslan he wasn't 100% and only fought to pay off some tax debt. And he was injured again.... He actually has to fight more because he has some debt in child support. Right now he can't pay it all....

It was Ramirez who requested the change in date. Hernandez was ready to fight, so Ramirez (mandatory) put the request in on two weeks notice.

It's really rather tragic. Yoan Pablo was last relevant when he beat Cunningham. That's a long time ago. I stick by what I said. Illnesses, injuries and gifts. One of the worst lineal champions of all time.

I can't believe Marco Huck didn't get the opportunity. He would have been the most deserving lineal champion in a while with his activity (outside of sitting out his contract).
