Comments Thread For: Frampton: If Rigondeaux With Haymon, Easy Fight to Make

Carl Frampton believes his signing with powerful boxing adviser Al Haymon could open up the door to fights with a few of Haymon’s top featherweights. But what about the best fighter in Frampton’s division, 122-pound champion Guillermo Rigondeaux?

“I think the Rigondeaux fight is a great possibility. There’s rumors that he may be linking up with Al Haymon. If he does link up with Al Haymon, then of course the fight would be easy to make,” Frampton said. “I believe I could win. You look at Rigondeaux, I completely admire what he does and his fighting style. But I think I’m the only man in the super bantamweight division that can beat him.”

Exactly. There's no integrity in the sport right now. The top dogs showcase until the best fights either phase themselves out, or its borderline too late (ie May vs Pac.)

I hope people aren't using rigos name just for the hell of it. Loma, Fram, LSC and anyone would be a great fight for the God

This fight would have been just as easy to make before Frampton signed with Al Haymon since Rigondeaux said he had no problem going to Belfast.

Fight doesn't need any more build up it is a big fight that needs to happen as soon as Rigondeaux clear up his Manager Situation

Nothing against Frampton. He may be a good fighter one day but I want Rigo/Loma.

I would love to see this fight happen next. Frampton is a good fighter and is likely the best in the division after Rigo. I would definitely favor Rigo to win but it's still an exciting matchup.

I agree with everyone saying this fight could've already happened before both guys signed with Haymon. But I do think they'll get paid handsomely to fight now, more money than they would've made previously. That doesn't make it right but money is the greatest motivation.

looks like every other day someone comes out and says that they are willing to fight rigo but apparently nobody actually means it.
