Comments Thread For: Badou Jack: Groves Is Perfect For My First Title Defense

Regardless of what you thought of Badou Jack’s potential prior to his showdown with Anthony Dirrell, there’s no denying now that he belongs among the best super middleweights in the world. The once-beaten boxer—born in Sweden but who now fights out of Las Vegas—rose to the occasion, claiming a well-earned decision to claim a super middleweight title in a mild upset this past April.

There’s no rest for the weary, as Jack is met with a dangerous first title defense as he faces mandatory contender George Groves. The two will headline an August 22 card live on Showtime from The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

Badou Jack had a great win but Groves won't take him lightly. Easy work.

Groves tends to gas in the late rounds. I could easily see Jack winning a decision, Groves will probably come in top form for this fight and he can test that fine China on Jack's chin so I took him to win at -175

When Froch knocks a guy he's never the same. I'm going for Jack by decision.

Well if we relate to the other high profile KOs Froch had, Bute & Taylor, he destroyed them mentally as well as physically.

Groves hasn't taken a sustained beating by Froch - First time it shouldn't have been stopped and the second time it was a cagey affair until the cobra snapped.

I think Groves will beat the average jack comfortably. I don't think Jack does anything better than Groves, not even taking a better punch. He might have better stamina though.
