Comments Thread For: Matthysse Continues To Prepare For Postol Title Clash

Argentinian Lucas Matthysse (37-3, 34KOs) is training for a planned fall return Viktor Postol (27-0, 11KOs) of Ukraine. At stake for both men will be the vacant junior welterweight title of the World Boxing Council (WBC).

The belt was vacated last month by longtime champion Danny Garcia, who had not defended the title since early 2014 and his last two fights took place at a catch-weight above the 140-pound limit. His upcoming return on August 1, will be his welterweight debut against Paulie Malignaggi.

Viva La Maquina! I got Matthysse KO in 7. If any thinks Postol wins hit me up, I got 800 Quad on my man.

Has the potential to be a good fight, but I think Matthysse wins by stoppage.

I am really looking forward to this fight. I think Postol is going to win in what many will consider a mild upset.

Matthysse remains IMO very over rated by NSB. He can box a little, is tough, and has pop. But he gets hit far too much. Postol is going to hit him much more than Provo did.

I love a stylistic clash like this. Boxer vs Brawler. Bring it on

I don't think Matthysse loses another fight unless he moves up in weight, Crawford included. Postol won't beat Matthysse.

Love this fight. Postol is skilled and has a high work rate, if this goes the distance he could get the decision. But being the much taller man, his body will be there to hit, Matthysse needs to close the distance and get to work on the body. 50-50 fight, hard to pick a winner but I like both guys, so don't really care who wins.

i think the comparison between molina jr and postol come from the height, not something else.

I'm looking forward to this one. Nice clash of styles.
I rate Postol but I'm expecting Lucas to win.

Easy work Postol. Mattyhsse is going to get embarrassed and thourougly outboxed. Postol KO 10th round

Too bad Danny Garcia ducked Postol (the Haymon norm with non-Haymon fighters who actually box full time become mandatory opponents) I would MUUUCHHH rather Postol dominate and embarrass Garcia
