Comments Thread For: Thurman: Khan Can Win Rounds, But Won't Beat Floyd

WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman won't deny that Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is going to present some problems to Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) in the early rounds - if those two were to fight - but he doesn't expect Mayweather to lose his unbeaten record when the fight concludes.

Thurman noticed some stamina issues in Khan's May victory over heavy underdog Chris Algieri. Khan came out with the victory, but he had some struggles in the second half of the contest.

Khan's performance vs. Algeri, did him a great disservice! When you combine that performance, with his performance vs. Danny Garcia, and vs. Peterson, and vs. Julio Diaz, he looks like a very average, non-PPV worthy fighter. Floyd's only PPV worthy opponent is vs. GGG. I would pay for Mayweather vs. Lara, but I don't think many others would.

I agree! Floyds only decent PPV opponent is GGG. This would be the only fight I would pay for.

not happening. floyd is a natural jr welter fight at 147 for the money. GG is struggling to make 160 for a potential big money fight against cotto.thats why there's weight classes.

Yup. You hit the nail dead center. Very average - non-PPV worthy fighter.

LOL. Well done on bringing up his fights he lost in or didn't look good. That sure does combine to be a bad string.

I guess him vs. Collazo and Alexander in the past 12 months did him a great service by that standard.

Floyd v. Guy who is coming off a gift decision against Algieri = laughable for PPV..

Brook in the UK would be OK...in Vegas = I'm not interested

Thurman would be OK = Still think Floyd will easily outbox Thurman and land at will

Triple G = the only PPV worthy fight

Bull****, Floyd's such a natural Junior Welterweight that he couldn't make 144 against Marquez
