Rotherham—Boxing returned to terrestrial TV tonight courtesy of Spike TV with a brace of English title fights. In the first of two televised bouts, Dronfield's Lewis Taylor (11st 4lbs 8oz) vied with Stafford's Grant Cunningham (11st 5lbs 8oz) for the 160lb belt.
The fight was starting to ebb and flow by the fifth round, but a clash of heads opened up a cut by Taylor’s right eye and blood also eked from a scalp wound. Taylor dropped a majority decision to Eamonn O'Kane in May and needed to post a 'W' to get back on track.
