  • Comments Thread For: Omar Narvaez To Continue Career, One Final Run

Former champion Omar Narvaez, 39-years-old, is planning to continue his career. The Argentine veteran has been out of the ring since last December, when he was knocked out in two rounds by Japanese sensation Naoya Inoue, who was moving up by two weight divisions to capture the WBO super flyweight crown.

Narvaez wants a rematch with him. Inoue injured his right hand in the fight and he too has been out of the ring since their match. Narvaez says there is a rematch clause and they were set to fight again, but the date keeps getting put off due to the hand injury of the champion.

I have no problem with this guy fighting again and despite being almost 40, it wouldn't shock me if he won another title and kept it for a little while. But there is absolutely no reason why he should fight Inoue again. A rematch with Donaire might even be a wiser choice.

Donaire? Donaire struggled badly to make 122 in his last fight. Unless you're asking for Narvaez to move up from 115 all the way up to 122, but that would be ridiculous.
