  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: I Hope Tyson Fury Beats Wladimir Klitschko

As previously reported, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has hinted he may make a purse bid for Wladimir Klitschko v. Tyson Fury.

The 39-year-old Klitschko (64-3, 53KOs) currently holds the WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF world titles but with the deadline for agreeing terms with mandatory WBO challenger Fury on Monday, Hearn has confirmed he is considering travelling to Panama for the resulting purse bidding.

Hearn told Sky Sports that he's hoping the fight happens - and Fury pulls off the upset - because it would open the door for much bigger fights in the heavyweight division with Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua.

Even if Fury loses to Wlad he'll still be a decent opponent for Wilder and obviously for young Joshua.

How can Hearn promote a fight of fighter under contract for different promoters?

And why does Fury have two promoters?

its called purse bids he can bid for it but he wont win, cause wlad is paying himself 75% so he can bid it up and its going back to him anyway. And cause hennessy was with him from the start he wont leave him behind lol.

          So Fury pays 2 promoters?

And if Hearns were to win, does he have to pay Warren, Hennessy & K2?

            80/20 split.

He has to pay them twenty percent of the winning bid, whatever figure that may be. They then share it out as their promotional contract states, I'm not sure what standing Warren has with Hennessey, surely it is an agreement to promote the fights through his channel where he is figured in, though he should accept at least some return as he got Fury the eliminator against his guy and has co promoted his last few fights through his channel. I don't know the specifics, somebody like Denium will be familiar with the intangibles, he has followed his career consistently unlike many of the Brit fans who have defected to Fury now Haye has as good as retired.

Apparently Hennessy and Warren are going to negotiate with K2, so they can both put a low bid in, K2 will get the fight on the cheap and Warren will get uk tv rights.

'Apparently'..lol... a close associate said no doubt. bs, no promoter would run that risk, as we've seen, Haymon and others are quite capable of stealing fights from under their nose. They will put in a realistic price based on the finances.
Hearn is obviously trolling Warren, as Warren would loathe loosing the rights to sky. I cant see Hearn actually bidding enough to beat K2, but it might make Warren waste some money, and put an over the top bid in.

If Hearn wins, K2, Hennessy and Warren don't get paid.

I like both boxers equal for different reasons and don't mind who wins exactly...

I tip Wladimir Klitschko to win by KO.

Some respectable posters here have tipped Fury for some decent reasons, fair enough.

IF Fury wins, I'll eat crow for those guys...

What I wont tolerate is Fury being underated as an EASY or BAD opponent for Wlad or somewhat LESSER an opponent than could have been had in earlier times. Utter bollocks!

Fury will be the 2nd occasion on which Wlad has faced someone both longer and heftier than himself and in this case faster and more skilled than the one before him (albeit with a lesser chin).

Wladimir characteristically doesn't or can't employ any shut out tactics against an opponent like Fury either in practice or theory given the evidence.

I think that punch speed and punch power will win Wladimir the fight in an action packed adventure.

If I'm right it will be a good win against a good opponent in a good fight.

If I'm wrong, it will be the biggest upset since Tyson/Douglas and Wlad would have passed the torch to a worthy challenger who will be good for boxing.

                    Fair is fair!
